Plates generally very good, light intermittent foxing and toning along edges and folds.Folding map with no major tearing just moderate edge-wear, toning and light foxing. Folding plate good, toned and foxed with some smudging and with heavier edge-wear along bottom edge but not affecting image. Other plates generally very good, varying degrees of toning, smudges, foxing but nothing serious. Recent full calf binding, gilt paneling to covers. Spine raised bands in six compartments. Fine gilt tooling with date imprint at foot of spine. Black morocco spine label in gilt. Natural edges lightly stained red as bound. Fine condition or nearly so, some light scuffing to covers and spine, light wear to joints but only minimal wear to corners and edges. Volume firmly bound, boards firmly attached.
Endpapers renewed with period bookplate of a Mr. Sergeant Russell reaffixed to renewed front pastedown. Dealer/bookseller price history noted in pencil to ffep. Collation notes in pencil to first original (third actual) blank, just before title page.
"Sion House" in old ink to top of title page. Pages lightly toned, light intermittent foxing but very light. Occasional light smudge to margins but generally clean and bright.
