1910 Folding Map of Rhodesia Under the Administration of The British South Africa Company. Printed by Waterlow & Sons, colour-printed wood engraving.
Housed within its original Burgundy card covers with gilt-blocked titles to front. A map of Rhodesia as administered by the British South Africa Company, which lasted from 1889 to 1924, when it became a British Protectorate. It shows railway lines (open, under construction and projected), as well as mines and telegraphs. Undated, however as German South West and East Africa are present, together with the more unusual smaller format titles at upper left, would suggest a date of around 1910 (or earlier). Later maps in this style are generally dated in the lower right corner border.
Extremely fresh, minor rubbing/wear at fold points, though overall in an excellent state. 1910 Rhodesia Under The Administration of the British South Africa Company Map" is in sale since Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
