The complete series of 10 maps from his "Mémoires sur les Principaux Travaux D'Utilité Publique Exécutés en Égypte depuis la plus Haute Antiquité Jusqu'a nos Jours", published in Paris 1872-73 by Arthus Bertrand. An interesting and decorative series, showing maps, cross-sections, two vignettes of the remains of the Pyramids in Biamo (Map II), plans, profiles & diagrams of his accomplishments in Egypt. The maps are numbered I-VI, VIIa, VIIb, VIIIa, VIIIb and engraved by Erhard and printed by Monrocq (both of Paris). Linant de Bellfonds was Chief Engineer of Egypt's public works between 1831-69, including Chief Engineer of the Suez Canal.Maps I and II approx. Both with border tears, small fold splits, Map III approx. Three repaired fold splits to reverse, Maps IV, V, VI, VIIa/b, VIIIa/b approx.
All with peripheral tears which impinge into the border areas to a maximum of about 70mm. Some other peripheral loss/nicks/minor imperfections present, though free from staining/spotting.
